Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to your CRM (MCP)

By CRM SortedMCP status checked 4 Nov 2026Research-based
Short answer30 CRMs, vendor docs

25 of the 30 CRMs in the CRM Sorted index have an official MCP server on 4 Nov 2026, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other AI tools can read and update them directly. Attio, HubSpot, Bigin by Zoho CRM and Clarify include it on a free plan, and 16 more include it on their cheapest paid plan at no extra cost. EngageBay does not say which plans include its server.

Capsule CRM, Inflowave, monday CRM and Salesforce need a higher tier for MCP (for monday CRM and Salesforce this is the safe reading, as the vendor names no plan). The other 5, Copper, Freshsales, Keap, Less Annoying CRM and noCRM.io, only work through third-party servers built on their APIs.

Most official servers are hosted by the vendor and sign in with OAuth, so you paste one URL into your AI tool and no code is needed. Check what the server can change before you connect it: 7 cannot delete records, while Close, Zoho CRM, Clarify, HighLevel, Salesforce and Zero can.

Prices are per seat a month as shown on each vendor's own pricing page, in the currencies it showed, never converted. Full plans, team costs and evidence screenshots are in the CRM Price Index. To combine MCP with other needs, such as email sync or seat count, turn on “Official MCP server” under AI and integrations in the CRM Finder.

What MCP is, in two sentences

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call another app's tools, such as “search deals” or “create a note”, through one connector instead of a custom integration for each pair. A CRM's MCP server is that connector: you add its URL to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another client, sign in, and the assistant works with your live CRM data inside the permissions of your CRM user.

It is not the same as the AI built into a CRM. Built-in AI runs inside the CRM and is usually metered in the CRM's own credits; MCP lets the AI tool you already pay for reach into the CRM. Many teams use both.

What AI agents can actually do in a CRM

The tools differ more than the marketing suggests. These examples come from each vendor's own MCP docs.

  • Find and summarise recordsWhere it works: Every official serverLimits worth knowing: HubSpot search returns up to 200 results a page and fetches up to 100 record IDs at once. Streak cannot read email content.
  • Update deals, contacts and companies after a callWhere it works: Most official servers; Bigin's fetches records and triggers workflows insteadLimits worth knowing: The HubSpot connector in Claude creates or updates at most 10 records at a time. Insightly works one record at a time.
  • Create or update records in bulkWhere it works: folk (batches of up to 100), Zoho CRM (bulk operations)Limits worth knowing: Enrichment started through folk's server uses your enrichment credits.
  • Convert a lead to a deal, or close it as won or lostWhere it works: Pipedrive (lead to deal), Nutshell (won, lost or cancelled)Limits worth knowing: Pipedrive Projects tools need Premium or the Projects add-on.
  • Log notes, tasks and activitiesWhere it works: Attio, Pipedrive, folk, Nutshell, OnePageCRM, Capsule and othersLimits worth knowing: Nutshell cannot edit existing notes or apply tags.
  • Send messagesWhere it works: Breakcold (email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram), Clarify (email)Limits worth knowing: A sending tool acts in your name; keep approval on for it in your AI tool.
  • Run reports or queriesWhere it works: Attio (reports; read-only SQL on Enterprise), Nutshell (reports)Limits worth knowing: Insightly's server cannot run reports.
  • Change fields, layouts or automationWhere it works: Zoho CRM (separate customization and workflow servers), Clarify (fields and objects), folk (custom fields)Limits worth knowing: Give these to an admin account only.

On the cheapest paid plan

Pipedrive, folk, Close, Zoho CRM, Breakcold, Day AI, Flowlu, HighLevel, Insightly, Lightfield, Nutshell, OnePageCRM, Salesflare, Streak, Twenty and Zero.

Needs a higher tier

  • Capsule CRM: Growth, not Starter
  • Inflowave: Pro, not Business
  • monday CRM: Standard, not Basic (safe reading)
  • Salesforce: Sales Cloud Core, not Starter Suite (safe reading)

EngageBay, HighLevel, monday CRM, Salesflare and Salesforce do not say which plans include their server. The matrix shows the safe reading (for example, the lowest plan with API access) until the vendor states it.

MCP calls use your API allowance

In Pipedrive every MCP call spends the daily API token budget: 30,000 tokens per seat on Lite, 60,000 on Growth, 150,000 on Premium and 210,000 on Ultimate, and a search costs 40 tokens. Zoho CRM counts MCP calls as API credits, and monday CRM counts them toward the daily API limit, which its CRM feature table does not list on Basic. A busy agent on a small plan can run out before the day ends.

AI credits: mostly undocumented

No CRM here charges for MCP itself. But folk's enrichment through MCP uses enrichment credits, and Day AI's server applies your agent tier's tools and limits. Attio and HubSpot do not document whether MCP use draws on their AI credits, so watch your credit meter in the first weeks.

Your AI tool has its own plan rules

The HubSpot connector for Claude needs a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise). On the free Claude plan you can add only one custom connector, per folk's docs. Pipedrive says adding it to ChatGPT as a custom server needs ChatGPT Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, and Nutshell says creating records through ChatGPT needs Business, Enterprise or Edu.

What each plan costs a team of 2, 5, 10 or 20 seats is on the pricing pages, for example Attio, Pipedrive and HubSpot, and for all 30 CRMs in the CRM Price Index.

Safety: read, write, delete and permissions

An MCP server gives an AI tool the same reach as the CRM user who connects it. Decide what it may change before you connect it.

  • Start read-only where you can

Close lets you pick a scope when you connect: mcp.read is read-only, mcp.write_safe adds create and update, and mcp.write_destructive adds delete. Zoho CRM runs a separate read-only Data Insights server. Elsewhere, set write tools to “ask” in your AI tool; Zero's docs suggest allowing reads and asking before every create, update or delete.

  • Know which servers can delete

HubSpot, Pipedrive, folk, EngageBay, Flowlu, Insightly and Nutshell document no delete tools. Close, Zoho CRM, Clarify, HighLevel, Salesforce and Zero can delete records. Attio can delete only tasks and comments. For the rest, the docs do not say; treat them as able to until you check the tool list.

  • Permissions follow the user who signs in

Attio, Pipedrive, Capsule, Nutshell, Zoho CRM and Twenty all say the assistant sees and changes only what your CRM user can. So connect with a normal seller account, not an admin. Pipedrive admins can switch off API access per permission set, and a HubSpot Super Admin approves the connector for other users. HubSpot keeps Sensitive Data properties out of MCP.

  • OAuth beats a pasted key

With OAuth you sign in in the browser and can revoke access in the CRM. Flowlu, Inflowave and some others use an API key in the client's config file, which grants whatever that key can do; keep it out of shared files and version control. Twenty gives API keys a role, so you can limit what they reach.

  • CRM text can carry instructions

Notes and emails in your CRM are written by other people. An assistant reading them can be steered by text hidden inside (prompt injection). Inflowave wraps user-written text in markers for this reason, and Flowlu shows a preview before any change. Keep approval on for sending and deleting tools.

How to connect each AI tool

The steps are the same for any hosted CRM server with OAuth. Replace the name and URL with your CRM's, from the matrix's docs link.

  • Claude

Open Customize, then Connectors. Pick your CRM from the directory if it is listed, or add a custom connector with the server URL, then sign in to the CRM.

  • Claude Code

Run claude mcp add --transport http crm https://…/mcp, then open /mcp to sign in. Connectors added in claude.ai also appear when you log in with the same account.

  • ChatGPT

Find the CRM in the app directory and connect it. If it is not listed, turn on Developer Mode and add a custom MCP server with the URL. Pipedrive says that needs ChatGPT Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu.

  • Codex

Run codex mcp add crm --url https://…/mcp, then codex mcp login crm to sign in.

  • Cursor

Add "crm": { "url": "https://…/mcp" } under mcpServers in ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then sign in when Cursor asks.

  • Gemini CLI

Run gemini mcp add --transport http crm https://…/mcp, then /mcp auth crm. Of the four reviewed CRMs, only HubSpot covers the Gemini app, with a read-only Workspace connector.

Exceptions to the general steps

HubSpot's server needs a client ID you register in HubSpot first when you use it outside the official Claude and ChatGPT connectors. Capsule needs an OAuth app you create in its Developer Hub. Flowlu and Inflowave take an API key in a header instead of a sign-in. HighLevel publishes a different server URL for Claude, ChatGPT or Codex, and Cursor.

Exact commands for the four CRMs with full reviews

“Vendor docs” means the CRM's own documentation covers that AI tool. “Works” means the tool connects through the standard steps, and the review gives the exact command.

FAQ

What is a CRM MCP server?

It is a connector the CRM vendor (or a third party) runs so AI tools that speak the Model Context Protocol can search and update your CRM records. You add its URL to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another client, sign in to the CRM, and the AI tool can then use the CRM's tools in a chat.

Which CRMs have an official MCP server?

On 4 Nov 2026, 25 of the 30 CRMs in this index do: Attio, HubSpot, Pipedrive, folk, Close, Zoho CRM, Bigin by Zoho CRM, Breakcold, Capsule CRM, Clarify, Day AI, EngageBay, Flowlu, HighLevel, Inflowave, Insightly, Lightfield, monday CRM, Nutshell, OnePageCRM, Salesflare, Salesforce, Streak, Twenty and Zero. Copper, Freshsales, Keap, Less Annoying CRM and noCRM.io only have third-party servers.

Does HubSpot have an MCP server, and is it free?

Yes. HubSpot runs a remote MCP server at mcp.hubspot.com with OAuth sign-in, plus ready-made connectors for Claude and ChatGPT, and they work on every HubSpot plan, including Free. The Claude connector needs a paid Claude plan, and some tools need a specific hub, such as quotes on Revenue Hub Professional.

Is there an Attio MCP server?

Yes. Attio hosts an official server at mcp.attio.com/mcp with OAuth sign-in, on every plan including Free. It reads and writes records, notes, tasks and lists, and can run reports; SQL queries need Enterprise.

Can Claude or ChatGPT delete records in my CRM?

Only if the server has delete tools and you grant them. 7 official servers here have no delete tools at all, including HubSpot's connectors, Pipedrive and folk. Close, Zoho CRM, Clarify, HighLevel, Salesforce and Zero can delete, and Close puts delete in a separate scope you choose when you connect.

Do I need developer skills to connect my CRM to Claude or ChatGPT?

Not for most CRMs. Hosted servers with OAuth only need you to paste a URL into the AI tool and sign in. HubSpot (for your own clients), Capsule and Flowlu take more setup, because you register an app or paste an API key first.

Does using MCP cost extra or use AI credits?

None of the CRMs here sells MCP as a paid add-on. Calls usually count against your plan's API allowance, as in Pipedrive, Zoho CRM and monday CRM, and some tools draw on credits, such as folk's enrichment. Attio and HubSpot do not document whether MCP use consumes their AI credits. Your AI tool's own subscription is a separate cost.

How is MCP different from a CRM's API?

The API is for scripts you write; you handle keys, endpoints and rate limits yourself. An MCP server wraps the API in named tools an AI assistant can discover and call from a chat, usually with OAuth sign-in and your user permissions. Calls often still count against the API limits.

Method and sources

Research-based, from each vendor's own MCP documentation, help center and pricing page. A server counts as official only when the CRM vendor builds and runs it. The lowest plan comes from the CRM Finder's feature maps, which record the lowest plan the vendor ticks for MCP or API access. Docs for every CRM are linked in the matrix; the CRMs without a server were rechecked on 4 Nov 2026, with screenshots kept as evidence. Per-CRM details and sources are on the reviews: Attio, HubSpot, Pipedrive and folk.
